Ferrum (Fe) is a formative element in many enzymes and hormones, and it is also related to protein metabolism, as well as the breakdown and synthesis of carbohydrates and lipids. When lacking sufficient ferrum, animals often lose their appetites, experience slow body growth, hair depilation, dry and chapped skin, and/or wounds that cannot easily be healed. Adding a high dosage of ferrum to their feed can reduce diarrhea and help to increase weight.
